Rudy Reynon II — known professionally as Ru AREYOU — has spent his entire life at the intersection of martial arts, movement, and performance. His story starts at age 4 with a pair of kamas. It hasn't slowed down since.
Born in Sacramento, California, Rudy Reynon II began training in martial arts at age four under the guidance of his father. By age eight he had earned his second-degree black belt — a credential that would have been remarkable for a teenager, let alone a child.
At nine, Ru entered the NASKA circuit — the North American Sport Karate Association, the premier competitive organization for sport karate in the world. Over the next eleven years he competed at the highest level, specializing in kamas (traditional Okinawan sickle weapons used in pairs), developing a style that blended precision, athleticism, and artistry.
His first kamas form was choreographed alongside his father and performed to music — a format he would go on to master and eventually build an entire curriculum around.
